Holy Rosary Catholic School works diligently to stay atop of technology trends. Students in grades 3 through 8 have one-to-one Chrome books and lower grades have a laptop station. Classrooms utilize online programs such as Renaissance Learning and Khan Academy and teachers use iPads, Apple TV, document cameras, and projectors to enhance instruction. Students learn to use technology to enrich their content understanding. In addition, students collaborate through technology using Google Docs and Google Classroom.
Holy Rosary Catholic School participates in the Parochial Athletic League (PAL). Specific sport teams at Holy Rosary Catholic School vary annually depending on student interest and coach availability. Typically, girls volleyball and boys and girls basketball teams are fielded each year. In the 2015-2016 school year, girls volleyball, co-ed cross country, and boys and girls basketball were formed.
The focus of all sports is to teach and build teamwork, as well as and good sportsmanship. Participants, coaches, and parents are all bound by the PAL policies and guidelines as well as those set forth in the Parent-Student Handbook regarding the expectations of Christian behavior during games and practices.
Musictown Studio of Woodland is pleased to offer private or semi-private lessons onsite at Holy Rosary Catholic School. Taking lessons on campus is very similar to taking lessons at the studio, and Musictown fees are paid directly to Musictown. This opportunity provides a dynamic learning environment developing a lifelong passion for performing and creative arts. Students learning on campus are also limited to one lesson during the school day and are expected to meet high academic standards.
TK-1st Grade: One-on-one private piano lessons with an instructor, 30 minutes per week.
2nd-8th Grade: One-on-one private lessons with an instructor, 30 minutes per week. Instrument choices include voice, guitar, piano, bass, drums, or violin.
4th-8th Grade: Group lessons of up to four students with an instructor, 30 minutes per week. Instrument choices include flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, or concert drums.
Holy Rosary Catholic School offers art projects woven into daily curriculum. In addition, students also experience monthly art classes by docents. Both the docents and classroom teachers receive professional development from the Croker Art Museum, which focus on the elements of art.
